A New Chapter

Hello everyone, and welcome back to Wendy Wednesdays.

This week, as we come to the close of this 100th Black History Month, you may be filled with celebration, inspiration, sadness and mourning. Most importantly, I hope and pray that we are more informed, influenced and empowered. “Remain reminded” of the work done and to be done. With this in mind I am delighted to share more from AllySHIFT™, the launch of our reading series, Treasure Not Buried!

Treasure Not Buried is a cross generational reading series by AllySHIFT™ designed to unearth the wisdom, stories, and lived experiences that shape who we are. Rooted in AllySHIFT™’s faith-based model, this series creates intentional space for multigenerational literacy exploration, critical conversations, and histories not silenced, forgotten, or buried. Through curated readings and guided dialogue, Treasure Not Buried transforms books into bridges connecting generations, perspectives, and lived experiences.

Chapter 1 features myself and my grandson, Mikey, as we explore "Black Boy Joy" by Kwame Mbalia. It was an absolute joy getting to share this experience with such a brilliant young man. I hope you enjoy watching it as well. It’s available to watch now on our YouTube channel, so please take a look, and remember to like, share and subscribe to AllySHIFT™’s YouTube channel to keep up with future episodes.
